Tell us about your strategy for promotion – how do you reach readers? Connecting with authors is what I do for fun and it truly is a special part of my day. I enjoy getting to know the authors better and love hearing feedback on their promos. I spend a good portion of my working time reading and answering emails and connecting with authors and readers, which is certainly time well spent. For these reasons, our daily newsletter has a very high open rate and many readers visit our page daily.Įncouraging readers and authors to write us has been beneficial to Choosy Bookworm because we often receive emails from readers and authors that help us to improve how we run not just our site, but our business as a whole. Readers are also encouraged to be engaged on Facebook and Pinterest, which has been very well received. We have set up an engagement campaign for our readers that works to educate and entertain them. Our main focus is to connect with authors and readers. What sets your site apart from other promo sites? We call her our VIP, because she has taken the time provide us with a lot of direction. One of our most vocal supporters is author Jackie Weger, author of Finding Home. On our journey, we have received a lot of feedback and direction from readers as well as authors, and we are very grateful for it. It goes fast, and it’s been an incredible journey already! :o) By mid June, this number had grown to 4800. During this time, our readership grew a lot! Our first newsletter went out to 80 people in March and by the end of May, our list of daily newsletter subscribers had grown to 3800. The beginning of March is also when our newsletters began going out. We started putting up a temporary site in January of 2014 and set up a real site featuring books in March. Jay says the wonderful feedback from readers and authors encouraged him to build a site as well as set up a daily newsletter to accompany the Facebook group.Ĭhoosy Bookworm is still fairly young. Jay and his wife decided to build a Facebook group for book lovers and advertise the occasional indie book to other bookworms like themselves. He’s always been passionate about reading and has a Kindle crammed with ebooks. To be fair the restaurant was very busy, so obviously popular and maybe if you ordered other items the experience may be different, but make sure you bring enough money with you.Jay Lee runs a book promo site called Choosy Bookworm. The mission of the site is to bring authors and ebook lovers together. We were brought the bill, they had charged for bread which we did not have, they corrected the bill but it was still just a few cents short of 80.00 Euros, we did not leave a tip and we will not be going back. I had profiteroles for dessert, ice cream filled things straight out of a packet with a bitter chocolate sauce, pleasant if you like ice cream profiteroles rather than the real thing. We told the waiter that we had ordered chips, he apologised then appeared some minutes later, after the plates had been cleared, with a plate of chips, nice try but too late. I ate half of my steak, my wife hardly touched hers. The steaks arrived, not the best Angus steaks by a long way and not cooked evenly, one side was medium and the other side very rare and they had these vile greasy sauteed potato's. We were not asked how we wanted our steak. For a main course we both chose the Angus steak and we specifically asked for French Fries. To start we ordered 65 degree eggs with potato, iberica ham and foie, the sauteed potato's were cold, the poached egg was half raw, the ham almost non existent but the foie was perfect - not a pleasant dish and at 8.50 plus IVA not cheap. The waiter recommended a local red wine which was very good, but he forgot our order of water. Extensive menu with some unusual dishes but the prices do not include IVA, this really annoys me as it misleads you. Then through a door in to a large room, modern decor, but no windows, a strange atmosphere, a bit claustrophobic. The restaurant entrance is a typical Spanish bar, pleasant enough. A modern exterior up a small side road, parking is impossible in that area, it took us 15 minutes to find a place to park.
